SmartSYNC: iSAMS Pupil monitoring system

SmartSYNC allows you to monitor iSAMS for new and graduating pupils along with their applicant address. We also monitor their registered parents and their contact addresses. To achieve this you need to register for a new API Key. A brief outline of the steps is below but please ask your iSAMS support team for any further help.

Note: The iSAMS API service must have been purchased by your school for this process to work. If you have not purchased this, we will forward the request to our Partner Manager who will be in contact with you to discuss your requirements and costs involved.
  1. In the iSAMS Control Panel module, select the API Services Manager applet.
  2. Select Manage Batch API Keys from the right hand menu. The Manage Batch API Keys screen is then displayed.
  3. Click Request Batch API Key and enter the following details:
    1. Integrator Name: SmartTHING
    2. Product Name: SmartSYNC
  4. Click Save & Close
The key should now or shortly appear in the Manage Batch API Keys screen.

You need to configure the services available by this key now, your IT team may also wish to apply other changes to the settings but please discuss that with them and the iSAMS support team. The default settings will work with SmartSYNC anyway.
  1. To the right of the new API Key are a set of icons, click the edit key icon: 
  2. On the Batch Methods tab select:
    1. Pupil Manager Datasets > Current Students
    2. Pupil Manager Datasets > Contacts (Filtered)
  3. Click Save & Close
Note the API Key on the Key Properties tab and return to SmartSYNC.
