SmartZIP RE/Database View: Set up instructions

Installation of SmartZIP RE is a quick three step process.

1. Set up your Loqate key

You are hopefully aware that SmartZIP is powered by the leading provider of postcode lookups - Loqate (previously known as PCA Predict). You will need to set up your key and account at their website. To do this we have written a quick guide: Set up your Loqate key (note you do not need to secure your key as it is for a desktop application and not the web)

2. Install and run SmartZIP RE

Your trial email for SmartZIP RE contains links to two versions of SmartZIP. If you have admin rights on your machine (can install software) then please use the alternative install link. This helps avoid some issues with virus checkers blocking functionality. The installer when downloaded should be run and will at the end of the installation run SmartZIP RE for you.

Otherwise, use the simple install link to download the file onto your Desktop (we suggest) and then run it.

After either of the above you will see a new SmartZIP icon in the bottom right of windows (next to the clock in your system tray). Sometimes the icon is hidden under a little up arrow so click that if you can't see it:

3. Enter your Loqate key

Now you have to add your Loqate key. Right click the tray icon and select 'Set PCA Key' and paste in your above key which should be in the format: XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX

That's it, you are now ready to use SmartZIP RE.

Address Accelerator notices

If you get warnings about Address Accelerator or Postal Saver when trying to use SmartZIP you need to uncheck the option under Config > International > Country for 'Addresses with this country are eligible for AddressAccelerator':
