SmartSTOREOLX Quick Start Guide


Installation is very simple as long as you are familiar with how to place an OLX donation form on a page (please refer to Blackbaud Guides for help on this if unsure).

Step 1 - Configure RE and OLX

Note, these instructions are on the OLX Deploy page for reference (and in more detail) but the process is basically:
  1. Create your gift attributes in Raiser's Edge
  2. Build your OLX form in the Online Express Raiser's Edge plugin
    1. On the last step of building your form you will be given the OLX snippet of code to put on your website. All you need from this is the ID which is in the line bbox.showForm('[ID...]') i.e. the blurred section in the below. This is your BBbox form ID in the Basic Settings page (see Step 3) so please note it for later.


Step 2 - Create your code snippet

The next step is to create your code snippet. To do this you:
  • Enter your license details from the SmartSTORE OLX trial email

Step 3 - Adjust your settings and then click 'Get Script'.

You can now add your products and adjust the look and feel of your store (and a lot of other options). Once you have done this click the "Get Script" button.

Clicking 'Get Script' produces the snippet of code (like the OLX donation form snippets you will be used to getting). This snippet needs to be copied and pasted onto your website. 

Note: Do not put your OLX script on the page, just the SmartSTORE script is needed.

Step 4 - Add the store to your website

This step will vary depending on which website system you are using.

The process of adding the snippet to your website is identical to adding the Online Express (OLX) snippets to your site so please follow the same procedure. If you have any problems your web team should be able to help or failing that please email support@smartthing.org and we will do our best to advise.

You can also test your store immediately without needing any IT support by using this free online editor:
Just paste the snippet into the big box on the left and you will see your store on the right.
