SmartSOCIAL RE: Configuration of RE for SmartSOCIAL

These tasks only need to be done once for an organisation using SmartSOCIAL but you will need rights to configure Addressee/Salutations and (optionally) the knowledge of how to create an export and import in RE. The whole process should take 5 to 10 minutes so is not a major undertaking.

Step 1: Add a new addressee/salutation configuration

In order for SmartSOCIAL to know which record is being displayed we tweak the title bar settings for constituents. To do this we create a new addressee/salutaiton which includes the constituent id in a SPECIFIC format.

Go to Config > Addressees / Salutations where a New Addr/Sal is setup as below (note you will be prompted to add '- [' and ']' to the field name tables - just accept this when asked):



Step 2: Optional - Export Constituents that have LinkedIn Profiles

You can pre-populate SmartSOCIAL with your known LinkedIn Profile links from Raiser's Edge, if you wish to do this it uses a standard RE Export, instructions are here.

Step 3: Optional but recommended - Import to RE all updated LinkedIn Profile URLs

Occasionally you will want to sync the information held in SmartSOCIAL with RE. This can be whenever you wish as SmartSOCIAL will continue to function and will know all the latest profile links for each record. The import process adds the LinkedIn Profile links onto the records in RE and can also add additional data if you choose to do so.
