If your SmartTHING product license details do not work i.e. the product reports an error, please follow the below checks.
Check 1: Unblock our website
Check that you have access to our licensing websites - if either fail ask your IT team to unblock our websites, unfortunately SmartTHING can't do this for them:
- In you web browser visit: https://www.smartthing.org/ - you should see our website
- In your web browser visit: https://www.smartthing2.com/download/check.html - this should show the below page:
Check 2: Did you use the installer?
If you download some of our executable products (SmartOUTLOOK, SmartGMAIL, SmartZIPRE etc.) then you are presented with two options. You can just download the executable or by default you can download the full installer program (setup program). If you are having issues with the license please use the installer version.
The issue is that Windows and virus checkers will sometimes block internet access for executable files not installed in the default 'Program Files' locations in Windows or files that are EXEs downloaded from the internet. Our installer ensures the executables are installed in the normal Windows locations and hence avoid these issues.
Your license/trial email from us has links to the download location for your product. Some common links are:
- SmartOUTLOOK: https://www.smartthing.org/clients/upload/smartoutlook-setup.exe
- SmartGMAIL: https://www.smartthing.org/clients/upload/smartgmail-setup.exe
- SmartPASTE: https://www.smartthing.org/clients/upload/smartpaste-setup.exe
- SmartZIP: https://www.smartthing.org/clients/upload/smartzipre-setup.exe
Check 3: Is your license valid?
If the above two checks work then please check with us that the license details are valid and we can run checks at our end - email
support@smartthing.orgCheck 4: Still not working?
Get your IT team to whitelist the SmartTHING executable. The most common reason at this point is an overly eager virus checker that blocks license checks. It doesn't happen often but if you have completed the above checks this is the only one left and your IT team are the only ones who can fix it.
