SmartGMAIL is designed to quickly add individual emails from GMail into Raiser’s Edge.
Having said that, when you want to send an email from Raiser’s Edge there are ways to still use SmartGMAIL.
Send the email by copying the email address from Raiser’s Edge and sending the email via GMail as you normally would

2. Clicking on an email address in Raiser’s Edge should now launch GMail to send the email
2. Once you have sent the email go to your sent items and use SmartGMAIL to record it in RE. SmartGMAIL detects it as a sent email and will apply the relevant settings for action types etc.
Note: the above may not work with Blackbaud hosted Raiser's Edge. It depends strongly on the configuration of your Citrix client and that is something that varies between computers.
SmartGMAIL does not handle recording bulk emails that you wish to send from Raiser’s Edge but global add records covers this in Raiser’s Edge.
